The Chair of Milan's Politecnico Faculty of Design, dedicated to "Italian Beauty" and supported by Fondazione Cologni, has been renewed for the 2018-2019 academic year. The course aims at spreading awareness of the vast legacy of Italian savoir faire, a founding element of best Made in Italy. Beauty is narrated as an expression of talent, a vital characteristic of the Italian production, strictly connected to metiers d'art.
Understanding and decoding the "construction" of beauty helps acknowledge the material and immaterial heritage which has always been a source of creative and professional design inspiration. The course, held by Alberto Cavalli, General Director of Fondazione Cologni, has received the patronage of the city of Milan. Lectures, therefore, will not only be held in the Politecnico Campus at Bovisa, but have been organised in several significant locations throughout the city: from GAM-Galleria d’Arte Moderna to the Teatrino in Palazzo Visconti, from Poldi Pezzoli to Bagatti Valsecchi Museums, to the theatre of Compagnia Marionettistica Carlo Colla & Figli (Carlo Colla and Sons' Marionette Company).
