In the magnificent setting of the Sale Apollinee in the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Franco Cologni, President of the Cologni Foundation for the Métiers d’Art and Cesare de Michelis, President of Marsilio Editori, invited the public to a special event on the occasion of the presentation of the volume by Renato Meucci “Strumentaio. Il costruttore di strumenti musicali nella tradizione occidentale”, published by Marsilio Editori.

Giovanni Morelli, renowned professor of musicology at the University of Venice and director of the music institute at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini


Marco Di Pasquale, musicologist, professor at the Conservatorio di Vicenza

Renato Meucci, author of the book, musicologist and professor of the history of musical instruments at the Università Statale in Milan, and of the history of music at the Conservatory in Novara

A concert of Early Music followed the debate, with works by Girolamo Frescobaldi, Aurelio Virgiliano, Johannes H. Kapsberger, Johannes Schenck, Bernardo Pasquini, Arcangelo Corelli, performed by Cristiano Contadin (viola da gamba), Pier Paolo Ciurlia (chitarrone), Marco Vincenzi (harpsichord).
