On December 24th 2014 the Jewellery Museum of Vicenza, first Museum in Europe and one of the few in the world exclusively dedicated to jewellery and the goldsmith’s art will officially open. It is the brainchild of Fiera di Vicenza, which is financing and managing the project with the partnership of the Comune di Vicenza. The Jewellery Museum is curated and directed by Alba Cappellieri, Professor of Jewellery Design at Milan Polytechnic and one of the most important scholars of jewellery in Italy. It features a scientific and educational trail set out on nine exhibition rooms, each focusing on a different theme: Beauty, Function, Magic, Symbols, Art, Fashion, Design, Icons and Future.

The rooms have been individually curated by international experts, among them: Aldo Bakker, Gijs Bakker, Bianca Cappello, Deanna Farneti Cera, Graziella Folchini Grassetto, Stefano Papi, Maura Picciau and Paolo Maria Guarrera, Alfonsina Russo and Ida Caruso. The Room of Beauty has been curated by Franco Cologni.
