Salone d'Onore, La Triennale
On Tuesday, November 18th 2014, in the Salone d'Onore of La Triennale Museum in Milan, the conference "Il valore del mestiere" (The value of the craft) will take place.
The event, curated by the Cologni Foundation for the Métiers d'Art, will start with a welcome speech by Silvana Annicchiarico, Director of the Triennale Design Museum, followed by Franco Cologni (President of the Cologni Foundation) and Cristina Tajani, City Councillor of the City of Milan.
After the introduction, the round table dedicated the state-of-the-art of decorative and applied arts will take place, 20 years after the first conference "Fatto ad arte" (Triennale of Milan, 1995), through the analysis of some of the most relevant Italian historians and critics as Ugo La Pietra, artist and designer, Enzo Biffi Gentili, arts historian, Beppe Finessi, design and contemporary art critic.
The second part of the conference will be dedicated to the presentation of the book "Il valore del mestiere" (The value of the craft), the new scientific research of the Cologni Foundation, curated by Alberto Cavalli with Giuditta Comerci and Giovanna Marchello, and published by Marsilio Editori, dedicated to the rating of contemporary artisanal excellence.
Maurizio Dallocchio, Professor at Bocconi University, will then present the developments of of the research on "Valorisation of the territory and development of local excellence", curated by the CreSV (Center for Research on Sustainability and Value) of the Bocconi University in collaboration with Cologni Foundation and with the support of Vacheron Constantin.
Finally, the network of the Schools of excellence of métiers d'art and the MAM award, dedicated to the "Living National Treasures" of Italian savoir-fare, will be presented.
