Now in its eighth year, the Rometti Award, supported by the long-established Umbrian firm Ceramiche Rometti, intends to reward all the projects that offer an original contribution to the art of ceramics.

The competition is open to all students of Academies of Fine Arts and Design all over the world. Each participant must complete only one project, with a free subject, which succeeds in combining the work of art with the object of design, according to their taste and inclinations.

The finalists will be entitled to an internship of a week at the factory in Umbertide, where they will concretely make their project. The first classified of all the finalists will receive a cash prize of € 1,000.00, the second € 600.00 and the third € 400.00. All the creations made during the internship may enter production and all the prototypes will be put on display in the Rometti Museum, also in Umbertide. Applications must be made no later than 23rd May 2020.

This is a praiseworthy initiative which Rometti, an Italian excellence in production, has been promoting for some years now, to support young creatives and to put new lifeblood into the contemporary art of ceramics.
