20th-Century Festival: second edition

On the occasion of the 2024 edition of Salone del Mobile, Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte is pleased to present the eighth edition of "Doppia Firma. A dialogue between design and artisanal excellence"

The Craft Shopping Guide "Napoli su misura", a project commissioned by the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte and published by Gruppo Editoriale, is a poetic yet practical map of a selection of Neapolitan artisan excellence.

Milan hosted the first Made in Italy Festival: the new Eccellenza Artigiana initiative that connects students with the opportunities offered by the Italian economy of "high quality savoir-faire".

Nominations for the Starhotels Award, now in its third edition, closed on Friday, March 22, 2024. The chosen theme, “Souvenir of the Grand Tour”, has aroused great interest in the artisan world: many nominations were received from all over Italy, with very different types and often highly original interpretations.

Extended at the request of many master artisans the deadline for application for the "Souvenir del Grand Tour" Award, which slips from 1st March to 22th March 2024.

All the apprentices of "Una Scuola, un Lavoro. Percorsi di Eccellenza” – the historic Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte training internship project now in its 13th edition – are now at work! All over Italy, the photographer Peter Elovich, through his original shots, is collecting visual testimonies of the young protagonists at work, eager to "steal with their eyes and hands" the craft from their mentors and masters in this six-month apprenticeship.

On the occasion of a historic anniversary, registration opens to participate as an exhibitor in the Thirty-Year Anniversary of “Artigianato e Palazzo”, to be held Sept. 13-15, 2024, at the Corsini Garden in Florence. MAM Award for the Supporters of craftsmanship, “Artigianato e Palazzo, botteghe artigiane e loro committenze” has been receiving the patronage of Fondazione Cologni for years.

Among the many concrete actions that the Starhotels hotel group has activated in support of Italian high craftsmanship, a rich carnet of "Craft Experiences" has been created to be experienced in some of the most important artisan atelier in Venice, Milan, Florence and Rome.

Now in its third edition, the biennial La Grande Bellezza by Starhotels Award invites Italian master artisans to apply by submitting works on the theme “Souvenirs del Grand Tour”: a subject of great interest and fascination, that of the signature object-souvenir.

Established in 2018, the Young Ambassador program is developed by the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship and facilitated through a partnership with the Giorgio Cini Foundation

On Friday 22th December 2023, in Milan, on the behalf of the Presidency of the Italian Republic and the Ceremonial Office, Senator Mariapia Garavaglia awarded Alberto Cavalli, General Director of the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte, with the title and insignia of “Commendatore dell'Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana”.

In Triennale Milano, in the evening of Wednesday 17th January 2024, in the presence of the authors Anty Pansera and Mariateresa Chirico, was presented “Athena. Le presenze femminili delle Biennali/Triennali di Monza/Milano. 1923–1940”: the volume, in bookstores starting 31th January, also consists of an iconographic apparatus that is the result of very interesting archival research.

The 2023 edition of the Mini Master 2023 of “A School, a Job. Training of Excellence”, featuring 25 talented youngsters from all over Italy, is taking place in Milan.

Preparations are under way for the next edition of Homo Faber, which will take place Sept. 1-30, 2024, in Venice, at the Giorgio Cini Foundation.

For the second year in a row, Fondazione Italia Patria della Bellezza, a partner of our Foundation, organized the Forum della Bellezza on November 21.

On Saturday, November 18 and Sunday, November 19, at the Aula Magna of the University of Milan, Rotary International District 2041 celebrated the centenary of the founding of the first Rotary in Italy in 1923.

Great success for the seventh edition of ApritiModaHeld on 21 and 22 September, this nationwide event once again proved to be a discovery for the excellence of Italian fashion.

"Ara Starck at Made in Cloister", open to the public until 20 January 2024, is the first exhibition of the Parisian artist and storyteller Ara Starck in Naples, at the 16th-century cloister of the Church of Santa Caterina a Formiello where the Made in Cloister Foundation, an important centre for contemporary art, crafts and design in the heart of the Neapolitan city, is located.

On the occasion of the exhibition "Oro Bianco. Three Centuries of Ginori Porcelain" (25 October 2023 - 19 February 2024), Fondazione Cologni is organising some workshops for adults dedicated to ceramic and porcelain at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum in Milan.
