The museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, up to February 26 2016, pays tribute to the inventiveness, creativity and freedom of thought of the legendary Bauhaus movement, through the outstanding figures which contributed to its creation and which would later become the symbols of the Bauhaus spirit of research and experimentation, in the 20th century. The exhibition highlights the epochs and systems that generated the Bauhaus: from the Middle Ages and the great construction sites of the cathedrals, to Asian and Islamic arts, to the British Arts & Crafts movement, the first to bring down the barriers between art and the crafts. Many Bauhaus objects are exhibited alongside current works that have inherited its pioneering vision.
