The london-based maître chocolatier William Curley and his team created The Golden Speckled Egg, a 50 kilos chocolate egg made of Amadei chocolate, from cocoa beans cultivated in the Chuao region of Venezuela, considered the best cru in the world.
The egg has been sold for almost 8.500€ to the technology investor Cyrus Vandrevala, setting the new world record for the Most Expensive Chocolate Egg (non-jeweled).

Seven skilled chocolatiers at Curley's workshop worked three days to handcraft the egg, decorating it with edible gold leaf.
The egg was auctioned as part of the Fabergé Big Egg Hunt, which is raising money for the charities Action for Children and Elephant Family.
