Amilcare Ponchielli Theatre
On Wednesday 23 September 2015, the “Amilcare Ponchielli” theatre in Cremona hosted the award ceremony of the XIV Concorso Triennale Internazionale di Liuteria Antonio Stradivari.
The event, considered as the Olympics of violin making and promoted by Fondazione Stradivari – now Fondazione Museo del Violino – represented a precious opportunity for dialogue for violin makers and musicians worldwide: 334 craftsmen from 31 countries and 445 instruments.
This year a special award has been established within the event, thanks to a contribution by Fondazione Cologni: the “Premio Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte”. The Spanish Borja Bernabeu, already awarded the silver medal for the viola section, has earned the prize aimed at foreign luthiers based in Italy.
