Until 24 November, on the occasion of the 6th edition of the "Contemporary Mosaic Biennial", the city of Ravenna will be alive with events, exhibitions and meetings. Many institutional sites will host site-specific installations and exhibitions, thus turning into exceptional galleries where ancient and contemporary art will engage in an ongoing dialogue.

The MAR - Museo d'Arte della città di Ravenna (Ravenna’s Art Museum) will host two great exhibitions testifying to mosaic’s availability to support a wide range of interpretations: see "Chuck Close. Mosaics" and "Riccardo Zangelmi. Forever Young"’s portraits next to tapestries, photographs and prints; Palazzo Rasponi dalle Teste will host "Opere dal Mondo" (Works from the World), an exhibition-competition curated by AIMC-Associazione Internazionale Mosaicisti Contemporanei (International Association of Contemporary Mosaic); while Classis - Museo della Città e del Territorio (Classis - City and Territory Museum), is hosting "Sea Tiles. From Ancient Mosaic to Modern Copies", an exhibition of Roman floor mosaics featuring a marine subject. Thanks to the exhibition, the symbol city of mosaic is alive with an ongoing dialogue between past and present thanks to fascinating, suggestive contemporary solutions.
