Cremona’s Museo del Violino pays tribute to one of the greatest contemporary violin makers: Francesco Bissolotti.

Bissolotti was born in Soresina, where he started working as a woodcarver and inlayer until, in 1957, he resolved to attend Cremona’s Scuola di Liuteria (Violinmaking School) where he became an outstanding student thanks to his talent and manual skills. Later on, he met Sacconi, a violin maker and restorer who disclosed to him the construction technique of the violin’s inner form.

The exhibition will be open until 27 October, and will showcase an accurate selection of the instruments created by Bissolotti, all unique pieces testifying to his great workmanship and personality.
